Skip’s Corner
We are not here merely to make a living. We are here to honor and preserve our past, and to protect and enrich our future and our children’s future. In today’s society we can often lose track of our purpose; where we are going, how we will get there and, most importantly, how our actions affect others and our country along the way. In many ways our world seems to give us a warped sense of reality. At times like this we must remember to continue fighting for what we believe in. In the midst of economic pressures, political pressure, and pressure of others that don’t share our same drive and our vision for a great country, we must stay the course. Beware of complacency.
Many times we, as Christians, feel that if we speak up too loudly we could jeopardize our very existence. Nothing could be further from the truth! In fact, when we stop fighting for what we believe in, that is when we ultimately fail.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “It is not merely for today, but for all time to come that we should perpetuate for our children’s children this great and free government which we have enjoyed.” This is no time to keep silent.
Isn’t it awesome that we, as Christians, are in a position to potentially affect so many people in a positive manner! We, all of us, can truly make a difference in our community, our county, our state and, indeed, our nation.
Our strength is in our numbers, in our leadership and, most importantly, in our God. I would like to challenge each and every one of you to not only participate in ways that you feel you can contribute; but also step outside of your comfort zone and contribute there as well. Usually the most rewarding things we accomplish don’t come easily, and often there is a level of fear involved. Do Not Let That Stop You!
There is a cowboy thought that says, “Face your fears with faith and faith will conquer your fears.” I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
God Bless America
